Your Dynamics 365 data.
Fully in-house_

Dataverse capacity filling up, a licensing model nobody can see through anymore, and customer data stuck in the Power Platform. It can be different: your complete Dynamics data migrated to an open data layer that's yours. Without data loss, without a big bang, at your own pace.

sound_familiar

Dynamics does the job.
But nobody oversees it anymore.

Dynamics 365 probably came bundled with the Microsoft house: familiar, connected to Outlook and Teams, set up by an implementation partner. A few years later it's a stack of apps, licenses and customizations where only the invoices are still clear.

In-house data means: your accounts, contacts, opportunities and history in an open PostgreSQL database that's yours, on EU hosting you control. Dynamics and the rest of Microsoft 365 can keep running alongside it or get wound down step by step, whenever you want.

Dataverse capacity full

Your tenant's database capacity fills up with records, attachments and logs. Extra capacity gets bought per gigabyte per month, at rates that wouldn't be normal anywhere else.

Licensing chaos

Per app, per user, with attach licenses and add-ons. Nobody in the company can explain anymore exactly what's being paid for and why.

A consultant for everything

Adding a field, adjusting a report or fixing a flow: it's possible, but rarely without the implementation partner and rarely within a week.

Your data sits in their model

Reporting outside the package, a connection to your own tools, or AI on your customer data: it's possible, but through the platform's products, limits and licenses.

what_you_get

The same customer data.
Without a capacity meter.

Everything you've built up in Dynamics comes along: accounts, contacts, opportunities, activities, attachments and history. Only afterward it sits in an environment that's yours. Outlook and Teams simply keep working alongside it.

✓

No more capacity limits

Storage in your own database costs almost nothing. You never archive again because the tenant is full, only because you want to.

✓

One clear cost model

No more apps, attach licenses and add-ons. Just low, predictable infrastructure costs, however many colleagues are working in it.

✓

All history included

Records, relationships, activities and attachments get fully migrated and verified. Choice fields become readable values instead of internal codes.

✓

Microsoft 365 keeps working

Outlook, Teams and your calendar get connected to the data layer. You don't lose the Microsoft convenience, only the dependency on Dynamics.

✓

Changes in days

Adding a field, a new dashboard or an adjusted process is no longer a consultancy project. The environment gets built around your way of working.

✓

Never locked in again

The data layer is open, portable PostgreSQL. You can always leave, even from us. That keeps everyone sharp, including ourselves.

the_approach

From Dynamics 365 to in-house,
step by step

No big bang on a Friday afternoon. The migration runs in five controlled steps, while Dynamics keeps working as usual.

01
step 1

Data scan and inventory

We map out your environment: which tables, how many records, which flows, customizations and integrations. You get an honest picture of what needs to come along and what can be cleaned up.

02
step 2

Full export and schema mapping

We retrieve everything via the Web API and export routes: records, relationships, attachments, history. Every Dataverse table gets a place in an open data model that speaks your language, with readable values instead of internal codes.

03
step 3

Test migration and verification

First a test migration. We recount per table, check relationships and deduplicate. You look along in the new environment before anything becomes final.

04
step 4

Running in parallel

Dynamics keeps working as usual while your in-house data layer proves itself with dashboards, reporting and AI on your own data. Outlook and Teams get connected, new data flows in automatically.

05
step 5

Switch at your own pace

Only once everything is proven do you wind down the Dynamics licensing. Or you keep Dynamics for part of the work and bring only your data in-house. Both are possible.

prove_it_first

You've heard big promises about migrations before.
That's why we start with a no-obligation data scan.

We look at your environment together, map out what needs to come out, and use a test export to show what your data looks like in an open data layer. After that you know exactly where you stand, even if you decide to stay where you are.

frequently_asked_questions

What else do you want to know?

Can I export all my data from Dynamics 365?

Yes. Every table in Dataverse is reachable via the Web API, and for large volumes there are export routes such as Azure Synapse Link and dataflows. Accounts, contacts, opportunities, activities and attachments come across completely. Choice fields get converted from internal codes into readable values along the way, so the data keeps its meaning outside Dynamics too.

What happens to my Power Automate flows and customizations?

Flows, plugins and customizations aren't literally exportable, and that's usually not a loss. They get rebuilt in the new environment, around your process instead of around Dataverse's data model. In practice, a good share of them turn out to exist only to work around limitations of the platform.

Do I have to stop using Dynamics 365 right away?

No. The open data layer first goes in place alongside Dynamics, and both run in parallel. Microsoft 365, Outlook and Teams keep working as usual and get connected to the data layer. Only once everything is proven do you wind down the Dynamics licensing. You can also keep Dynamics and only bring your data in-house.

How do I deal with the Dataverse capacity limits right now?

Three strategies already work today: cleaning up audit logs and outdated records, moving attachments and documents to cheaper storage, and archiving historical data to your own database instead of buying extra Dataverse capacity. That own archive database is immediately the first step toward in-house management. We cover all three in detail in the whitepaper.

What does the Data Act mean for my Dynamics contract?

The European Data Act obliges cloud service providers to make switching possible, including handing over your data in a usable format. From 12 January 2027, no switching costs may be charged for this anymore. More on that in our article on the Data Act.

Is an in-house data layer secure enough for GDPR?

Yes. The data layer runs on EU hosting with row level security, encryption at rest and in transit, and daily backups. The underlying infrastructure is SOC2 Type II and ISO 27001 certified. And because the environment is yours, you can verify that yourself instead of taking a vendor's word for it.
